Chaos

Meet the newest addition to our family.

Matthew was hunting on his farm this weekend and literally almost ran her over with his 4 wheeler. She appears to be mostly Australian Shepherd but there must be something else mixed in. She's a really sweet dog and her face is precious, but lord have mercy she has alot of energy. I'm used to the dog that literally sleeps unless he's eating or going to the bathroom so having her in the house has been a major change for us. I'm afraid that she might run Harley to death.
Once Matthew found her she wouldn't leave his side, he even tried to lose her a couple of times and would find her back at their camper at night. Me being the sucker that I am told him to bring her home. She's in pretty rough shape. She's underweight and has knots in most of her fur, so I'm taking her to the vet today and the groomer on Wednesday and hopefully everything will be okay with her. Ideally I get to the vet today and they can find a micro-chip but I'm not counting on it. Especially because it looks like she's never even had a collar on.
Harley's tail has been wagging since the second she stepped in the door, and Ava was running around this morning screaming "two doggies mommy!" We aren't 100% sure at this point that we will keep her, but unless I find somewhere that I know she would be taken care of, she can stay right here. I just hope that I'm not making the wrong decision.

I'm happy she's been so universally accepted. You have a good heart, dear.

Aww, she's sooo cute! Justin's in here w/me in the office/entertainment room watching wrestling while I'm checking blogs (he's out of school tomorrow=teacher planning & student holiday) & I told him about her & showed him the pics. He said, "Tell her we'll take her"! I said, "They live in Kentucky baby"! He said, "She can mail her to us"!! HA!

It might do Harley some good to have a playmate :) And, Ava definitely likes her ;)

What a beautiful dog!! I know she would just be sooo appreciative if you kept her, and your other dog will surely be thankful too :)

What a lucky find!

She's way cute! Full of energy, I'm sure (sounds like a border collie ...hehe). Lots of energy to love tho.

That is how we found our second dog. My husband almost ran over her with the rental car when he was on his way out to get his FANTASTICAL father's day dinner (pizza!)...

Life is really a series of circumstances... had I not been rear ended two weeks prior, he would have been driving Toyota Forerunner, and would never have seen her run straight in front of him. Had I been a FANTASTICAL wife, I would have been slaving away making him a nice dinner... since I am not inclined in the kitchen way.. he had to find his best fix...

The best thing he brought home that day was our second dog, which as of this time, is our only dog now.

She definitely has some scaredy-cat issues since the time we have found her... but she has very much been a wonderful addition to our home.

She suited her name that we gave her... L.P... short for lost pup. AND.. whoever had her to start with NEVER deserved her... so we ended up with her...

At her advanced age... we now refer to her as "The Till", which rhymes with her previous knickname that was Tilly, which came from the previous name "silly", which just prior to that it was "Smiley", because she was always smiling.

Mind you.. if your current dog is wagging it's tail, and being very happy.. then you certainly have to keep her...! Our other German Shepherd which was the QUEEN of the household disliked the new addition..always.

I don't know what "what's his name, from "at the end of my leash" would have said about her disliking dogs so much... but we had the two dogs for 7 years together.

Good luck with your decision.
