Snow Day

We woke up to a little snow cover on the ground, and Miss Ava and I decided we needed to take advantage of this before it melts. We MIGHT have gotten a 1/2 inch, and of course schools all over the state were cancelled. Basically if there is a threat to get any snow at all, this entire area goes into survival mode, and I'm sure if I needed a gallon of milk right now I wouldn't be able to find one within a 50 mile radius. That's how we work in these parts.

So we got all dressed up (minus pants, she was still wearing her pajamas), and went out side for a bit. I also realized that the child doesn't have boots, so I broke the rules for my online shopping limits and just ordered her a pair of UG.G's, and I am going to get it for that. I don't know that I can justify spending that kind of money on shoes for her, but I would rather spend it in her than on me, so JUST THIS ONCE (yeah right) I'll indulge myself. She wasn't really sure what to do once we got out there, so she just decided it was best to stand still.
See how she's sort of frozen in her own footsteps?

Still trying to figure out what the hell this white stuff is.

This is his "I'm done" look. He ironically enough went back inside a good 5 minutes before us, and just stood and watched us from the window.

I cheated today too ...only for a light switch cover off ebay...but it was so CUTE! Ava looks like a snow angel! Here in WI we need 50 inches of snow to close school...*sigh*

i love her hat! everyone goes into survival mode here too. it snowed a little but it was gone in about an hour and everything was dry again. there wasn't even rain and everyone was cancelling events left and right. they don't seem to understand that without rain you don't have ice.

Yes, I remember the "Kroger Alerts" from when I lived in Nashville. That always cracked me up. Here, of course, we don't cancel much of anything for less than a foot ... although ice, of course, will shut us down.

The photos are darling. Makes me long to take Tabby sledding! Next year, I guess. ;)

I came over from All Ellie...

1/2 inch to shut down the place?! Can I come live there?!! In MN it takes lots and lots of snow to shut down the schools and even if they close, no businesses do :( I always have to go to work, they expect you on time... you just have to leave early enough to get there in time. That stinks.

Looks like she had fun in the snow! How cute.

I LOVE her little hat! It has been a loooong time since I have seen or felt snow. Can't say I really miss it. But fun for the kids, right?
